Black Nevas ransomware group claims data theft from Toyota Kirloskar Motor

The Black Nevas ransomware gang has claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on Toyota Kirloskar Motor.  Toyota Kirloskar Motor is a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corporation and the Kirloskar Group, with manufacturing facilities located in Bidadi, Karnataka, near Bengaluru.

The threat actors claim to have exfiltrated approximately 4TB of sensitive corporate data from the company's systems. Black Nevas claims it gained a foothold on other networks of the corporation of Toyota India with other Toyota networks. 

The allegedly compromised data includes:

  • Employee personal data
  • Corporate information
  • Proprietary manufacturing processes (potentially)
  • Supplier information (potentially)
  • Employee records (potentially)
  • Customer data (potentially)

The attackers have uploaded sample files as proof of their successful breach, but no independent veirification is available. 

The number of affected individuals is not disclosed. Toyota Kirloskar Motor has not issued an official statement confirming the breach.
