VBG, the German Occupational Health and Safety Association, has reported a ransomware attack affecting its online campus, which serves seminar participants in occupational safety and health protection. While the organization's core functionality and insurance data remain unaffected, it has informed affected individuals that personal data may have been compromised.

VBG has notified the supervisory authorities about the incident and is offering assistance to individuals who have questions or concerns.

The attack targeted a server used to manage the online campus, and it was shut down and taken offline. However, there is a possibility that the following personal information was accessed:

  • Full name,
  • Email address,
  • Telephone number,
  • Employer’s name,
  • Address (street, house number, postcode, city).

The number of affected individuals is not disclosed.
