Kenya Airways is apparently the target of a ransomware attack orchestrated by the group Ransomexx. Kenya Airways boasts that it's Africa's largest and second most efficient airline, with over 4 million annual passengers and a network spanning 42 global destinations.
This breach resulted in the online leakage of sensitive company data, including:
- passenger details,
- staff details,
- internal operations,
- passport applications
- accident reports,
- death records,
- strategic plans.
The stolen data was partially leaked on the Dark Web. Kenya Airways has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident. No details are available about the nature of the attack, number of affected individuals or financial impact or any mitigating measures taken by the airline.
