Pacific Residential Mortgage, LLC (Pac Res) is reporting a data breach caused by a ransomware attack that compromised sensitive consumer information. The Oregon-based mortgage company, discovered that hackers had gained unauthorized access to their systems on February 10 2025.
Pac Res started an investigation, hired a cybersecurity firm to secure their environment, recovered affected systems from backups and notified law enforcement of the incident. The investigation confirmed that attackers accessed personal information, including:
- Names
- Addresses
- Dates of birth
- Social Security numbers
- Driver's license numbers
- Financial account information
The number of affected individuals is not disclosed.
The company has sent data breach notification letters to affected individuals, detailing the specific information that was exposed in their particular case. Pac Res is offering impacted customers credit monitoring services, fraud assistance and remediation services through Cyberscout and 12 months of cybersecurity alerts at no charge.
