Hawaiian Airlines, confirmed on June 26, 2025, that it experienced a cybersecurity incident that disrupted access to some of its IT systems. The breach was first discovered when an unexpected alert message appeared simultaneously on both Hawaiian Airlines' and Alaska Airlines' websites, indicating that an "event" had impacted their technology infrastructure.

The airline engaged appropriate authorities and cybersecurity experts to investigate and remediate the incident. 

No details are disclosed about the nature of the attack, impacted systems, any exposed data or number of affected individuals. The language used in Hawaiian Airlines' official statement typically indicates either a ransomware attack or a significant data breach. 

The airline emphasized that despite the cybersecurity breach, all flights continue to operate safely and according to schedule, with no disruptions to passenger travel or flight safety.

Update - as of 28th of June 2025, the FBI confirmed that the attack is similar to previous ones carried out by the Scattered Spider group.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed it is in contact with Hawaiian Airlines and actively monitoring the situation. The Federal Aviation Administration said its safety office responsible for airline oversight is in contact with Hawaiian Airlines. "There has been no impact on safety, and the airline continues to operate safely".
