PriceSmart, a membership warehouse club operator with locations in Central America, the Caribbean, and South America, known for its bulk sales of merchandise at discounted prices has fallen victim to a cyberattack by the AlphV hacking group.

The group has exfiltrated over 500GB of sensitive data pertaining to employees and clients. AlphV, also known as Black Cat, is known for its aggressive cyber offenses against more than 60 entities within a month.

The substantial volume of data compromised in the hack may be abused in multiple ways, and lead to more cyberattacks.
