Randolph Health, operating under American Healthcare Systems LLC, is reporting a data breach, which was discovered after an unauthorized access to an employee's email account. Randolph Health is a community-based healthcare system in Asheboro, North Carolina.

The incident was identified on February 14, 2024. Randolph Health contained the breach and initiated an investigation with the assistance of cybersecurity experts. They confirmed that certain files containing confidential patient information were accessed, including:

• dates of birth,
• medical record numbers,
• health insurance identification numbers,
• diagnosis codes.

Randolph Health began the process of notifying affected individuals and provided data breach notification letters, detailing the specific information that was compromised for each individual.
