Learn More
Private information of over 20,000 Sanford Health patients is at risk of being compromised due to a data security incident involving the hospital's imaging vendor, DMS Health Technologies, which occurred between March 27 and April 24 of this year.
Sanford Health is a non-profit, integrated health care system headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The breach potentially granted unauthorized access to specific network-stored data, according to a release from Sanford Health. The breach affected patients in various states, including major groups of patents from North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, and a smaller number in 36 other states.
The compromised data may include
- names,
- dates of birth,
- dates of service,
- physician names,
- exam types.
DMS will notify the affected patients and provide free identity monitoring services through Kroll based on the potentially exposed information.
