Western National group reports data breach

Western National Group, a Minnesota-based insurance firm established in 1969, on February 29, 2024 reported data breach incident in which an unauthorized entity had infiltrated their IT network.

The breach was detected on June 16, 2023, and enabled the intruder to gain access to parts of Western National's computer network, including files containing confidential consumer data.

Western National has not disclosed any details about the breach, so the exposed data, number of affected individuals or the nature of the attack are not publicly available.

By January 29, 2024, Western National completed the investigation and started the distribution of notification letters on February 29, 2024, to those impacted by the breach.
