MidFirst Bank, headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma reported a data breach incident that had compromised consumer information.
It remains uncertain whether the breach affected MidFirst Bank's internal IT network or that of one of its vendors. In response to the breach, MidFirst Bank conducted an analysis of compromised files to ascertain the extent of leaked information and identify affected consumers. The breach exposed sensitive details such as:
- individuals' names,
- Social Security numbers,
- financial account data.
The breach impacted an estimated 20,479 individuals in Texas alone, but the total number of affected individuals is not disclosed.
Subsequently, on August 22, 2023, MidFirst Bank initiated the distribution of data breach letters to affected individuals, outlining the compromised information pertaining to each recipient.
